New Florida Short Course Series Heats Up

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

The Short Course King is a new series in Florida that features the now popular SCT vehicles exclusively. The second round of this inaugural season was held over the weekend at the Ocala RC Car Club (orccc.org). JConcepts was well represented at the race, with the winners of both the stock and modified class choosing to run the TRUTH bodies, as well as Rulux wheels. While the Stock class requires the use of only stock tires that come with the kits, Modified class winner Matt Mosieur chose to run the SCT Goosebumps.

Cool In-Car Short Course Video

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Someone just sent me this video, since the film maker used the JConcepts Dare body and Rulux wheels. I didn’t watch it right way, as we have all seen our share of RC videos – but this is really well done – great audio. At the 4 minute mark – nightfall sets on the Baja 1000, and the truck is running down the course with only the lights on the Dare’s roof and hood to guide the way.

BAJR – Pronounced Badger

Straight from the Desert, this is a whipping new design from JConcepts.   The BAJR, as it is named, is concept inspired from the ground up to be the ultimate in desert and off-road looks and performance.   The BAJR is a fresh design, starting from the front of the vehicle, the super narrow and tucked front quarter panel treatment creates one of the slickest Illuzionized looks around.   The round Baja-esque profile of the cab area gives that familiar desert a ppearance.  As the design develops toward the rear,
the pronounc
0080 - JC Stars and Stripes - 3 - 800ed roof scoop, and proceeding cut-out and escape area makes this body unmistakably JConcepts.  Pronounced rear fender flare treatment and dovetail rear end finishes off the most concept inspired Short Course body to date.

The BAJR is all about being unique, competition ready and concept inspired.   Get creative with this body; run it as a short course racing vehicle with competition tires or as a desert vehicle with paddle and ribbed tires.  Go ahead, get crazy add a whip antenna; that’s what it’s made for.

  • Concept inspired JConcepts – BAJR desert styling
  • Low profile inspired body, cab and window design
  • Narrow and tucked front quarter panels

Review – JConcepts Goose Bumps tires and Illuzion Truth body for SC10

Associated SC10 with JConcepts Equipment

Interesting review of the new JConcepts equipment for the SC10 – courtesy of MyRCBox.com.

The best and easiest way to improve your truck handling and look is to swap the stock tires and body for something new. This is exactly what I’ve done with the freshly released JConcepts Goose Bumps tires, Rulux wheels and Illuzion Truth body specially designed for the Team Associated SC10 short course truck.

The rollers:

First, the Rulux wheels are extremely light. The mounting and gluing processes were an easy task. The tires fit perfectly to the black one-piece Rulux wheels (also available in white) . Like with others SC tires on the market, the inner diameter is 3.0” while the outer diameter is 2.2”. The Goose Bumps tires are compatible with the Team Associated SC10, Traxxas Slash and Slayer, HPI Blitz and Losi Strike short course trucks. Read the Full Review HERE

Goose Bumps rule the Short Course Competition in Enfield Connecticut.

JConcepts Goose Bumps are the tire to have in Short Course Racing; just ask Scott Brown who pulled off a hat trick in the Short Course classes at the 2009 Short Course Nationals.  Held at an R/C Madness constructed facility, the Short Course drivers had to endure many changing and developing conditions throughout the weekend.  The track went from an early mud bog then into a grippy qualifying surface, the Short Course Nationals conditions were always on the move.

Finishing on somewhat slippery, dry conditions, Scott Brown driving the Team Associated SC10, SC8 and SC8E completely dominated the competition with superior driving and on target products from JConcepts.  Competition was tight and emotion ran heavy in the Modified Short Course division and with a race between two of the sports most highly respected drivers the battle did not disappoint.   Scott Brown reigned supreme and added another national title for the JConcepts Goose Bumps.

I dare you.  The challenge everyone has faced including JConcepts.  JConcepts dares to be different with the latest introduction for the Slash, the Dare body.  Cut through desert type terrain like never before with the latest style JConcepts has to offer.

The Dare is different and specifically designed for the hottest truck in R/C – the Traxxas Slash.   As the saying goes, if it looks good, than it runs good.  Well JConcepts has taken that saying to higher ground with the Dare – Slash body.   Starting with the visor and grill mock lights this truck appears to be headed in the right direction.  The Dare represents the latest in trends by offering a completely redesigned off-road truck body.  The cab, bed and fenders are all areas of focus on the Dare and without disappointment the new Slash body slides into the front of the pack.   In addition, one of the highlights of the styling cues includes extra fender clearance to eliminate troublesome tire rubbing issues.

Everyone knows that the Slash is all about fun and the inevitable Dare from the competition.  Be the first, top off your Slash with the new body by JConcepts, I dare you.

Features:

  • Original JConcepts – Dare desert based styling
  • Original JConcepts – Dare desert based styling
